Champ's sad story

We got an email from the Shelter about this beautiful lovable dog, Champ, a 4-year-old neutered black Lab. He's done well and has not shown any aggression towards people nor dogs. He seems to be house-trained or kennel-trained, and definitely tries to hold it. He is stressed in the kennel environment and would do much better out of there.

He is a sweet, fantastic boy, however he is heartworm positive, and we will take care of his treatment. We only want the best for him!

Our sweet new girl

This is our new girl. She's a 1-year-old black/brindle dachshund mix. A smaller girl, she was horribly afraid in the kennel environment but showed no aggression. She weighs 19 pounds, recently spayed, and is just so very sad with no home. Oh, those puppy eyes!

She is now fostered by Alberta who had adopted a very fearful and difficult girl a year ago from us. We are so happy she was able to open her home for this beautiful girl trapped in a little body! Please call 239-271-6633 if you would like to meet her and help her get her confidence back.

Beautiful Madene

Madene was saved from a very high-kill shelter in the middle of the state, and was going to be euthanized that afternoon. Fortunately we were able to pull her and bring her to safety. Many followers on Facebook wanted to help so she could have a great life with a loving family. We do not think she was ever abused. She is very cute and funny, and will come right up to you giving you kisses.

She is dog friendly, beautiful and leash trained already. She's still a puppy, crate trained and loves her toys. Absolutely adorable 28-pound girl. She doesn't chew anything and can be left alone without any issues. Her adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines and microchip. If you would like to meet Madene, please call Helena, 239-272-6633.

Our senior dog, Red

Our Rescue does loves seniors! We don't take them very often, however, we truly believe no older dogs should finish their life in a Shelter. Red was in a Shelter for over 45 days under stress meds. He wasn't a young pup, so would be passed over, but there's something about this gentle soul. Red acts like a 6-year-old dog and has great white teeth. This is what we call "True Rescue." The best reward is to see day after day and week after week how these dogs change with the love they receive. If interested in adopting darling Red, please call Helena, 239-272-6633.

Bambi: Li'l lover boy

This is little Bambi. He spent most of his life outside in a yard, brought to the Shelter after his owner moved and didn't have room for him. How sad! He was so scared at the shelter, he was going to be put down. We took him in our Rescue and discovered a funny, lovable little guy! He's sociable and fine with other dogs, crate-trained, housebroken and a little lover! If interested in meeting this little guy, please call 239-281-0739.

We have cats and kittens

Please call 239-851-3485 if you're looking to adopt a wonderful cat and/or kitten. Remember the best gift is the gift of life: foster, adopt, volunteer, contribute!

Embrace pet insurance

Our Rescue offers its adopters pet insurance with "Embrace." The first two months only cost $1, then you can decide if you wish to keep going with the coverage. It's a great way to have your little one(s) protected.

Tasty mango chutney for the cause

As you know we made some homemade mango preserves and chutney from our local trees this last few weeks. They are absolutely delicious. Coming up, anytime we are set up at the special events hosted at Santini Marina Plaza, we will have some of these fine jams and chutneys available, all going to our cause.

In the meantime, if you would like to participate, please keep all empty jars and lids for the next year. That will help us a lot. Thanks for your consideration, and as always, feel free to visit FindaHomeGiveaHome.com anytime.

Making a donation

If you would like to help the new pets we are pulling from the Shelter this week, please consider making a donation in their name at P.O. Box 163, Fort Myers Beach Fl, 33931. Thanks for your generosity; without you, we would not be able to do what we love to do help find homes for unfortunate pets!
