They were a wild bunch of dudes rockin' killer equipment, insane ensembles and mind-blowing covers on stages all over the county, and they're coming back for a one-night-only performance downtown: Geek Skwad! Catch them at the World Famous Cigar Bar (formerly Gotham Hall) Sunday, Oct. 23, during a big downtown block party, with Trapt.
Why'd the boys decide to get together for this one-show event? "The World Famous Cigar Bar (formerly Gotham Hall) is celebrating 20 years in business. Since Cigar Bar Live has always supported Geek Skwad and all its members, we thought this would be a perfect opportunity for a reunion show. Not to mention opening for a national act like Trapt is always amazing," said Kimberly Bush, marketing and media guru for the band.
You'll see all the sweet Skwad superstars that night:?Tyler Kluesner (vocals, guitar), Scott "Scooby" Bush (guitar), Chuck Gibson (bass), Mike Brophy (drums) and Gregory Sallen (keyboard).

What can you look forward to with this gig? "As with any Skwad show, as many gags and goofs we can come up with! (Along with as many euphemisms about anatomy as we can squeeze in a 60-minute period)," they said. "We received lots of awesome feedback from our friends and fans, many mentioning personal favorites while others suggesting to 'just play everything.' As much as we'd love to, we can't squeeze 'it all' into our allotted time, but then again, we're Geek Skwad, so we can do anything and yes, we will rock and roll, bitches!"
Apparently the band originally went on hiatus because "after a five-year span it was time for a break, and all of Chuck's socks had holes in them. Also, Scooby and Tyler had to switch their nerd rims in for prescription glasses. And no one could find suspenders at Goodwill anymore," but they're proud to be back in action together Sunday.
The block party and live music starts at 2 p.m. that afternoon, with this musical line-up: The Catman Doodz, The Apocalypse Blues Revue, Geek Skwad and Trapt and there's no charge to attend the show.
If you can't make it out Sunday, the boys keep busy with solo gigs out and about regularly:
Tyler: Did The Falldown for a few years, now performing solo, and also put his rock band, Dolt, back together, recently releasing "The Road" EP and working on a full-length record.
Scooby: Working full time at Timeline Studio (visit MixMySong.net), and playing guitar for Soapy Tuna and Cinder.
Chuck: Got a new wardrobe (the '70s called; they wanted their pants back), got his glasses fixed (kept getting confused with tech support while at the mall), found his other sock, and currently playing in The Barstool Bandits duo.
Brophy: Rocking with Three Crooked Steps, and the Charlie Moon EP is now available, recorded at Timeline Studio with fellow local rockers Vic Jimenez, Mike Rogers and Keefe Klug. He also sits in with the Bad Banditos.
Greg: Has been playing in a duo called Firebrand, as well as collaborating with some big-name artists, including Bobby Kimball from Toto and Robin Zander from Cheap Trick.
