The staff of The Cottage Bar and Grill, 1270 Estero Blvd., is eager to host its annual Fat Tuesday benefit Tuesday, Feb. 28, from noon to close every year contributing to a great local cause or need. For a decade, the annual benefit has helped several great non-profit groups and causes. This year, proceeds will go toward helping a local pet rescue and all of its non-profit endeavors.
"In honor of John Donovan, we will be raising money for the Gulf Coast Humane Society, a regional organization dedicated to helping companion pets find their forever homes, no matter how long it takes," said Roxanne Jakaitis, bar manager of the island establishment. "John loved and respected animals, and realized the importance of programs such as the Gulf Coast Humane Society, and we want to continue to show them our support in honor of him."
During the 10th annual Mardi-Gras-themed benefit, look forward to non-stop live music throughout the day, featuring Steve Farst, 2 Crooked Steps, the New Vinyls, Charlie Moon and the Bad Banditos, along with Cajun food and drink specials, lots of fun raffles, prizes and 50/50s, and much more including plenty of Mardi Gras beads!
Organizers of the benefit continue seeking donations for the many raffle prizes during the benefit. "Please feel free to make any donations to our employees who are out and about working tirelessly to make this the best benefit yet. You may also drop off donations to the Cottage. Speak with Ray, Chic, Leslie, Roxanne, Johnna or Ty, call 239-765-5440 or mail to: 1250 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931."
