Last Songwriters at Sunset for the season Thursday eve

April 5, 2017
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

Join fellow music lovers at the gazebo on Lovers Key, 8700 Estero Blvd., for Songwriters at Sunset, an evening of all original music and the stories behind the songs in an intimate "Bluebird Caf" style, taking place Thursday, April 6, from 5:30 p.m. to sunset. This season's final concert will take place in the large gazebo located right on the beach at Lovers Key State Park, and feature Bob Williams, Dan Philgreen and Keith Parker.

Bob Williams, a Fort Myers Beach resident, has been writing songs since he picked up a guitar on Long Island, NY, more than 40 years ago. His music is all inclusive. With all of the great music in the 1960s, what truly spoke to him was a mix of folk-rock and country-rock, which is now considered part of Americana Music.

Bob's original songs are the ingredients of many different influences that create a unique sound all his own. His songs and the stories behind them always bring a smile.

Dan Philgreen came of age in the 1970s, when so many great singer-songwriters were on the radio, and has always loved folk and folk-rock music. His original tunes attempt to take an honest look at life as he sees it and leave the listener with hope.

Keith Parker, a.k.a. Canyon Wind, enjoys many different genres that have influenced his original compositions. He has a passion for writing, co-writing, arranging, recording and performing original music.

Seating is available in the shaded gazebo for the first 80 guests. Additional seating is available on the sand, so feel free to bring a beach chair and a few friends. There is no charge to attend the concert, free with park entry. Entry fees are $8 for vehicles (two to eight people), $4 for a single person in a vehicle, $2 for pedestrians/bicyclists.
