Mile One: Done

May 17, 2017

It's been a long process, but Segment 1 of the ReFresh Estero Boulevard Project - from Crescent Street to Lovers Lane - is now substantially complete. Crews laid the final pavement last week on the one-mile stretch and have been laying sod behind the sidewalks and restoring driveways to match the boulevard. Side streets are being paved at the intersections to match the new boulevard.

"Thank God," said Jacki Liszak, owner of the Sea Gypsy Inn. "I think it looks amazing. Everybody's using the sidewalk."

Work in Segment 2 is now underway; this week, crews will be installing sanitary sewer mains on the bayside of Estero Boulevard from Coconut Drive to Strandview Avenue (Publix). Crews also continue working on the beach side of Estero to install the town's new waterlines.
