Salty Sam's Waterfront Adventures has teamed up with Lee Memorial Health Foundation to raise money for the Golisano Children's Hospital.

"Salty Sam's family of businesses have been a proud supporter of the LMHF," said Matt Hanson, owner of Salty Sam's Waterfront Adventures. "By capitalizing on the popularity of our car shows, I think we can have an impact on improving the quality of life for the children of our community."

Fifty percent of proceeds raised from the Lee Memorial Health Raffle will be donated to the Golisano Children's Hospital pediatric initiative called Kids' Minds Matter.

The Caribbean Cruise-In Car Shows at Salty Sam's occur on the first and third Mondays of every month, October through May, from 4 to 7 p.m. The next shows are Feb. 5 and 19. Car owners and spectators alike can view some of the coolest and most exotic cars in the area, all competing for prizes for each car category and the coveted Best in Show.

"The Caribbean Cruise-In Car Shows are a free event, both for participants and spectators," said David Kastan, Salty Sam's Waterfront Adventures' marketing director. "It's really cool because we bring in some of the hottest cars in the area together in one place. We have seven categories for cars: Antique, Classic, Open Class, Muscle, Street Rod, Corvette 1950-1975 and Corvette 1976-Current."

Coming up on its 10th year, sprinkled in with live music, food, prizes and fun, their car shows have become one of the most popular re-occurring events of the season on Fort Myers Beach.

"We have beer/wine booths in the parking lot, both Parrot Key and the Original Shrimp Dock are open with food and drink specials, and we have live entertainment provided by local favorite Frank Torino," Kastan said. "We also have the very important 50/50 raffle to raise money for Kids' Minds Matter, a service of the Golisano Children's Hospital."

You just can't help but have a memorable night at Salty Sims. They are located right on the bay at 2500 Main St., on San Carlos Island and is a favorite of locals and visitors alike with its unique open-air setting on the waterfront edge. The festive decor and casual ambiance is the perfect tropical setting for a car lovers' get-together and to share all their road-worthy stories.

Don't forget to cast your ballot for the Best in Show prize that participants and spectators all vote for.

"The Best in Show winner gets a free Key West Express Ticket, a $140 value, plus the privilege to park in the coveted Winners Circle at the next car show," Kastan said. "I think what surprises people most about our car show is the size. We have roughly 100 to 150 cars, plus many spectators come out. It has a fun festival atmosphere. Once you come, you're hooked."

If you would like to register your car for the next car show, visit, so you won't have to wait in line. Pre-registration closes at 10 a.m. the day of the car show.
