Seuss session

March 7, 2018
Jessica Salmond - News Editor (jsalmond@breezenewspapers.com) , Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

In honor of Sr. Seuss's birthday, the Fort Myers Beach Elementary School invited community members to read his works to students.

March 2 is Theodor Seuss Geisel's birthday, and schools around the country celebrate with "Read Across America Day." Local community volunteers selected one of Dr. Seuss's books to read to a classroom. This year's readers were retired beach school principal, Larry Wood; retired school teacher, Kathy Brindise; Fort Myers Beach Fire Chief Matt Love; Beach Kids Foundation President Linda Beasley; Town Council Vice Mayor Tracey Gore; and Observer News Editor Jessica Salmond.

Students Maddie Power, Riley Koelling, Erin Boone and Mallory Amos served as the Seuss Ambassadors for the morning.
