State, Lee County update on coronavirus

The Florida Department of Health's latest numbers on the coronavirus known as COVID-19 are as follows:

There have been 1,007 confirmed positive cases out of 10,338 people tested. Of the positive cases, 937 are Florida residents and 70 are not Florida residents.

Lee County currently has 26 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. Of those cases, 23 are Florida residents.

There have been two fatalities this month in Lee County from COVID-19. There have been 14 deaths statewide from COVID-19.

Of the 26 confirmed positive cases in Lee County, 21 are of people 60 or older and three cases are of people in their 50's. The two other cases are a 23-year-old male resident of Florida who traveled to Tennessee and a 21-year-old female who is not a Florida resident and traveled to Spain.

Of the 26 confirmed cases in Lee County, 13 have required hospitalization, according to the Florida Department of Health.
